The Yankees were carried by Robinson Cano and Phil Hughes as they beat the Royals 3-2 to get back at them after suffering a shutout in Monday night’s game.
Derek Jeter scored on a bases-loaded single to tie the score as the Yankees rallied from an early two-run deficit to defeat the Royals after Monday’s shutout loss. Hughes gave up five hits and struck out seven in six innings to beat Royals right-hander Luke Hochevar for the second time in 17 days.
